Country Star Praises Men for Defending McDonald’s Worker in Melbourne

Two Australian men received public praise from American country singer Drew Baldridge after stepping in to protect a McDonald’s employee during a disturbing altercation in Melbourne. The incident, captured on video, shows a female staff member allegedly being verbally abused and spat on by a male customer.

Baldridge, who is touring Australia with Jelly Roll, shared the footage on social media, commending the quick response of the two men who restrained the aggressor. The post was captioned “Never abuse women.”

“Wrong country if you want to abuse women,” one of the men can be heard saying in the video.

According to Baldridge, the confrontation escalated after the man repeatedly yelled at the staffer. He recounted feeling anger as the situation unfolded.

“He probably said it like five times and I was starting to get frustrated. And I was like, ‘Bro, you need to calm down. You don’t talk to women like that.’”

The singer said the alleged attacker appeared to spit at the young woman over a dispute about his order. Other customers soon intervened, firmly confronting the man.

“Before I know it, these dudes got this dude on the ground,” Baldridge said.

Baldridge added that witnessing people stand up against harassment was both powerful and uplifting.
