Windows 10 EOL: Media Creation Tool Fails Just Before Support Ends
Microsoft has run into a timing issue right before Windows 10’s end-of-life.
The company confirmed that the latest Windows 11 Media Creation Tool, version 26100, is not working properly.
Windows 10 reaches its end-of-support on October 14, 2025, after which regular security updates will stop.
- Users still running Windows 10 will need to buy Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates package or move to Windows 11 to stay protected.
As a workaround, Microsoft suggests downloading the ISO directly from the official Windows 11 download page.
Choose “Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices” to get the ISO.
Users can then create a bootable drive using apps like Rufus or other image tools.
