During the 2025 League of Legends World Championship in Chengdu, Riot Games and French studio Fortiche debuted Twilight’s End, the cinematic concluding this year’s LoL narrative arc.
The story, focusing on LeBlanc, Vladimir, and Xin Zhao, unfolds across four cinematics released since January 2025:
The cinematic centers on the final struggle for control over the Darkin Glaive. It begins with a fierce battle in the Spirit Temple at the core of Ionia during the spirit blossom bloom. Here, Xin Zhao and temple guardian Yunara strive to stop Atakhan, LeBlanc’s ally, from capturing an ancient glaive that contains the Darkin Zaahen.
“In the chaos of the battle, Xin Zhao comes into contact with the artifact. He is instantly transported to the realm where Zaahen is imprisoned.”
Determined to prevent the apocalyptic future seen earlier — where LeBlanc and Atakhan succeed and Demacia suffers devastation — Xin Zhao pleads with Zaahen to possess his body to stop this fate.
For this production, Fortiche developed new visual styles influenced by Ionia’s magic and mysticism, adding unique aesthetic elements to the cinematic.
This cinematic concludes the 2025 League of Legends story with an epic clash over a powerful artifact, showcasing Fortiche’s evolving visual artistry inspired by Ionia’s mystic themes.
