Victory and Celebration

The team surged ahead in the second half, showcasing strong form and determination. KL Iro, who plays for the Cronulla Sharks in the National Rugby League, expressed immense joy after the win.

“Going to the World Cup, it's massive for us,” he said. “We spoke about it over the last four weeks. Really stoked to get this reward. I thought we were punishing ourselves in the last couple of games in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.”

Teammate Brendan Piakura acknowledged that the squad’s time training together in Rarotonga, following their Pacific Bowl campaign, helped strengthen their performance.

“I'm excited, exciting times,” he said.
