Paul Rodgers, original member of the English rock supergroup Bad Company, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony due to health concerns. The ceremony will honor Bad Company as part of the 2025 class.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers wrote on Bad Company’s Instagram page.
Rodgers had planned to reunite with drummer Simon Kirke on stage to perform several songs. The 2025 ceremony features performers and presenters such as Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, and Elton John.
Although Rodgers did not specify his current health issues, he revealed in 2023 to CBS News that he survived two major strokes in 2016 and 2019 and endured 11 minor strokes that temporarily impaired his speech.
“I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else,” Rodgers said. “Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock.”
Paul Rodgers will miss Bad Company's Hall of Fame induction to focus on his health, with Simon Kirke taking his place to perform at the 2025 ceremony.
