Your top source for Clemson Tigers news, rumors, analysis, stats, and scores from a fan’s perspective. Clemson basketball offers a welcome distraction from the disappointment of Clemson football.

The team has experienced both impressive highs and frustrating lows. Last season, they secured a memorable victory against Cooper Flagg’s Duke Blue Devils at Littlejohn Coliseum. Duke proceeded to reach the Final Four, and Flagg was selected first overall in the NBA draft. Clemson dominated the ACC regular season with an 18-2 conference record, the best in program history.

However, despite the strong record, Clemson did not win the ACC regular season title, losing in triple overtime at home to a struggling Georgia Tech team. They finished behind Duke and tied with Louisville. In the ACC Tournament, the Tigers defeated SMU but then fell to Louisville.

The season ended on a sour note with a harsh defeat to McNeese in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 64. McNeese’s coach, Will Wade, a Clemson alumnus who now leads NC State, is expected to remain a challenging opponent for Clemson basketball going forward.

"So, last year was simultaneously the most impressive conference performance in school history and also a year where the only banner that’ll hang in Littlejohn is one for a brief NCAA 'appearance.'"

Summary: Clemson basketball showed historic dominance in the ACC but suffered critical setbacks in postseason play, highlighting both great potential and notable shortcomings.
