Michael Bublé introduced the first-ever Mic Drop as the coaches continued narrowing their teams on Season 28 of The Voice. The episode aired on Monday, November 3, featuring Knockout Rounds where each coach—Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé—had to eliminate one artist after their performances. In this round, there were no Saves or Steals, making each coach's choice final.
Each coach held one Mic Drop to select a team member who could advance to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. Viewers will later vote for their favorite Mic Drop pick once all four artists are chosen.
Snoop Dogg's team members Toni Lorene and Natalia Albertini, who was saved during the Battle Rounds, faced off first. Natalia performed “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder, while Toni sang “Lady Marmalade.”
“Natalia, your performance was spectacular, you’re gorgeous, I love your outfit,” Reba McEntire praised. “I guess if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with Natalia.”
Niall Horan called Toni a “machine” and said, “The stuff you can do with your voice … there’s something special about you.”
Both Horan and Bublé leaned toward choosing Toni. Snoop Dogg expressed pride, stating, “I am a proud uncle.”
The Knockout Rounds intensify the competition as teams prepare to head into the Playoffs. The use of the Mic Drop adds a strategic twist, giving coaches a powerful tool in shaping their lineup for upcoming performances.
