'Volatile' stalker left GP living in fear during eight-month ordeal

An obsessive and unstable man has received one of the UK's longest prison sentences for stalking after terrifying his former GP for eight months.

Background

David Taylor, 56, formerly of Tarbolton Crescent in Hale, began harassing the doctor in August last year after being removed from her medical practice. He had been placed on the practice's barred list following increasingly aggressive behavior toward staff and patients.

Escalation of Harassment

After being banned, Taylor located his former GP’s professional profile online and began sending her messages. When she blocked him, he created another account to contact her again, this time requesting that his medical records be moved to a new practice.

Despite repeated efforts by the victim to cut off all communication, Taylor continued his harassment by posting inappropriate comments on the clinic’s Facebook page.

The Frightening Confrontation

The situation became even more alarming on March 26 when the doctor answered her front door at her home in Knutsford to find Taylor standing there and asking to speak with her.

After her initial shock, she immediately closed the door, called her husband, and dialed 999 for emergency help.

Lasting Impact

Knowing that Taylor had discovered her home address left the victim feeling unsafe and robbed her of the ability to live a normal life.

Author’s Summary

A dangerous stalker’s prolonged harassment of his former GP ended in imprisonment after months of fear and escalating encounters that deeply affected the victim’s sense of security.
