Hong Kong Sixes 2025 begins on November 7, featuring 12 teams in the fast-paced six-player-a-side cricket tournament. This competition originated in the 1990s to provide Hong Kong cricket fans an opportunity to watch international stars, despite Hong Kong being only an ICC Associate Member.
The Hong Kong Sixes became an annual event rather than just exhibition matches, with cricket boards allowing player participation. It was held from 1993 to 1997, resumed from 2001 to 2012, briefly appeared in 2017, and was relaunched in 2024.
All matches in 2025 will take place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. The group stage uses a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each pool advance to the quarterfinals, then the tournament proceeds as a single-match knockout.
Teams that do not make the knockout stage will play in bowl and plate fixtures to determine their final rankings.
Dinesh Karthik will captain India in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025. However, the team will miss Ravichandran Ashwin, who is sidelined due to injury.
