Antonio Brown, former NFL wide receiver, has been arrested in Dubai and is set to be extradited to Florida amid serious criminal charges. The arrest follows an incident in Miami in May 2025 during an influencer boxing event organized by streamer Adin Ross.
The 36-year-old athlete, last active with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, was taken into custody and flown back to the United States. He is currently held in Essex County, New Jersey, awaiting a judicial decision regarding his transfer to Miami, the location of the alleged crime and his upcoming trial.
Miami Police spokesperson Mike Vega confirmed Brown’s arrest on a charge of second-degree attempted homicide related to a shooting that occurred on May 16, shortly after the celebrity boxing match.
Police reports state that Brown allegedly took a handgun from security personnel and fired twice at a man he had previously clashed with, identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. The victim reported that a bullet grazed his neck during the incident.
In Florida, second-degree attempted homicide carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000 upon conviction.
"He was the victim, claiming he was assaulted and threatened with death—forcing him to act in self-defense."
Brown insists that he acted in self-defense after being attacked and threatened.
Antonio Brown faces serious charges after a Miami incident, with potential prison time if convicted, while he maintains that his actions were in self-defense.
