Tickets for the EuroNight service are expected to be available starting 4 November. A new night train is planned to link Switzerland with Denmark and Sweden, awaiting approval from the Swiss Parliament. If approved, the service will operate three times a week starting mid-April 2026.
The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) announced that the train will run from Basel to Copenhagen and Malmö. It will depart Basel at 5:35 pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Malmö at 9:35 am after a 16-hour journey. Return trips will leave Malmö at 6:57 pm on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays, arriving in Basel at 11:30 am after 16 hours and 30 minutes of travel.
The total route spans approximately 1,400 kilometres.
"The new service is making climate-friendly travel to Northern Europe even more accessible," said an SBB spokesperson, adding that it "meets the growing demand for sustainable, cross-border mobility."
This night train aims to provide an eco-friendly alternative for travelers between Central and Northern Europe.
