Erika Kirk, widow of the late US conservative activist and Israel supporter Charlie Kirk, will accept an award on his behalf during the Christian Media Summit in Jerusalem this week, the Government Press Office (GPO) announced.
Israel hosts more than 100 influential Christian leaders at this event, which honors participants for their exceptional contributions to Israeli public diplomacy worldwide. The four-day summit is organized by the GPO, the Foreign Ministry, and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
The summit includes leading Christian media representatives, opinion leaders, religious figures, and heads of organizations from various countries.
Four months prior to his assassination on a US college campus in September, Kirk wrote to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticizing Israel’s social media efforts. He suggested ways to improve public diplomacy and offered to meet with the prime minister on the topic.
This summit takes place amid ongoing debates within US conservative circles about antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment.
“Over 100 representatives of leading Christian media outlets, opinion leaders, religious figures, and heads of organizations from various countries” are expected to attend.
Kirk’s letter criticized Israel’s social media efforts and offered recommendations to improve public diplomacy.
